Technical difficulties with image availability beginning October 16

You may have noticed that we currently do not have any images available, even although the website is up and running. This is because we are experiencing some technical difficulties upgrading our image capacity. We are diagnosing the problem at present, and we will make images available as soon as we possibly can. We apologize for the interruption to our services.

The PBS Nova Sun Lab links to a few Helioviewer images and they are not available, even after the upgrade. Is there a solution to this?

      Hello,

Thanks for pointing this out. The images are all in the process of being restored and so everything should be back to normal in a few days. In the meantime I’ll go ahead and restore all of the Nova Lab example images manually so that they are available right away.

Hi, AIA and LASCO images have different image processing pipelines, and so problems that affect one pipeline do not necessarily affect other ones. We are currently troubleshooting the reason why there are no new LASCO images available. We hope to have them back up in the next couple of days. Sorry about this.

Hi, I seem to be unable to retrieve AIA data from last year – the default movie loads when I first start up JHelioviewer, however when I start specifying a date in the past (7 Jun 11) I get an “error in the server communication, invalid status code returned (500)”. Is this you or me?
